It’s not as hard to find tablets for kids with WiFi under $100 anymore. There are a handful of options these days and I’m going to give you the skinny on them. You can also read full reviews of all the kids tablets with WiFi at my website so you can make an informed decision of the best tablet for your child. These tablets are generally designed for kids ages 3 to 9 years of age and that is the focus age group of the content that is included.

Nabi JR is the Top Choice at $99Screenshot nabi jr wings

This is a handy little 5″ kids tablet not only has WiFi but is also an Android tablet that has access to thousands of apps through the Amazon store. It runs the 4.0 Android OS.

It comes loaded with the Wings program that has educational apps and games for kids that adapt to your child’s skill level. It also has a beautiful little swivel camera so your child can take photos and videos from the front or back.

Another cool option with Wings is your child gets coins for completing task on the games that they can use to buy new games and apps to play and learn with. You get 30 apps to start with and a nice little bumper case so there is no need to purchase anything else with this tablet.

It also comes with 16 GB of Ram and an expandable memory slot that will give you an additional 32 GB of memory to load movies, music, and store photos and apps. You can also manage your kids progress on your computer and set parental controls on the Nabi JR. You can also read a full review on the Nabi JR here.

Ematic FunTab Mini 4.3″ is $65Screenshot ematic funtab mini

Not nearly as powerful as the Nabi JR but at $30 less it’s still a nice little tablet for kids. It has half the memory and RAM but does have an expandable memory slot up to 32 GB as well.

You get several free educational apps and popular games like Cut the Rope and Angry Birds. The educational app Zoodles has won several awards with teachers and parents for quality of the content.

It has a single rear camera that will do video as well but really isn’t great quality and is less than 1 MP. There is no front camera.

This will serve as your child’s own little smartphone so you can have yours back. It has a 1 GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of flash memory for storage.

It also comes with a kids safe web browser that you can connect to your network for easy downloading options or even pre-approved website for kids to view. This tablet also runs the 4.0 Android OS.

Polaroid 7″ Kids Tablet at $79Screenshot Poloroid kids tablet

Another option is the Polaroids 7″ kids tablet. It is also run by the 4.0 Android OS. You get a 10 free interactive books through nook and 16 preloaded games for kids. You will also get Music Studio, Kids Vids, Lullaby, and Draw apps.

The Polaroid Kids tablet has a 1 GHz processor with 512 MB of RAM. It has 8 GB of internal memory and can be upgraded by 32 GB as well.

It also includes WiFi and a mini USB slot for charging or connecting to your PC. The rear webcam is 2 MP and takes both photos and videos.

This tablet also has parental controls and is controlled by an app that limits what children have access to. You can download from the Amazon store which will give you access to thousands of Android apps.

I have read several reviews from parents and all except one loved this tablet and that parent had a tablet that froze. Not sure if Polaroid replaced it but I’m sure it fit under the 1 year warranty. Not as fast as an adult tablet but very functional and durable for kids.

Other Options

You can read full reviews on the LeapFrog LeapPad 2 and the Vtech Innotab 3s which are both tablets for kids under $100 but really come close to being just toys.

Another option is the Ematic FunTab and is almost exactly identical to the mini version but is 7″ and slightly more expensive. You can read a full review here and it can usually be found for under $100.

  1. Hi
I Just have the tabeo e2 for my 5 yrs daughter. For $100 dollar it’s a good deal, only thing is I have movies I download for kids I play them in my tv, but #1 my MACBOOK Didn’t recognize the tablet, and if it recognize it how to I put the movies straight to the table?
#2 if I put the movies in the sd card will it play in the table? Which format should I use?

  2. Hi ! I’ve was looking for a tablet for my 6 year old son at Best buy when I ran into a Digital2 7″ deluxe pad. It is on sale for$59 reg price $99. It has an android 4.1 and runs google play. Have you any reviews on this? I was comparing it to the nabi2 and very similar specs.Any ideas on whether this would come close to a Nabi? Thsnks!

    • I haven’t done any reviews on it. Specs are deceiving sometimes. They may be the same numbers but that does not mean they are the same quality. I won’t speculate since I haven’t seen it though.
